Good Guys Stamp by WolvenFlames Good Guys Stamp by WolvenFlames
:iconcommentplz: :icontardgrinn:

Please :+fav: if you use!

I made this because it seems like in every novel I read, the good guys inevitably hand the villains' asses back to them on a silver platter. :P WHY? Don't the bad guys deserve their chance at victory?

Add this stamp to your collection if you support the dark, dastardly, and devious! Support their sinister motives! :3

The reason why I hate good guys and super heroes.
if I made movies and games guess who would win?
also, movies and stuff always make the bad guys strong and stuff but why do it if they're just going to lose anyway? Like, seriously?
Yoshi1337 Featured By Owner Sep 6, 2015  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Well you got your wish, Decepticons won Splatfest.
FlameBrandt Featured By Owner Sep 5, 2015  Student Digital Artist
Well, that would be just bad storytelling, frankly. If you make an audience like the characters, then rip the battle out from under them and make all of their actions seem like they had no effect on the outcome in any way, and just kill them off with no real character progression or ability development, then the reader feels as though they've been cheated by reading a story that had no real purpose whatsoever.

Only a few series have successfully attempted the bad guys win trope, namely being the Terminator (3 specifically) and Game of Thrones series. And as for Terminator, the audience only accepted it because they knew there was going to be more to the story in the form of sequels.

Eggman won in Sonic Riders

he just won a carpet
REALITYbender-Kera Featured By Owner Jul 19, 2015
got a good reason:

Reason why they win is that the hero unconsciously is altering the reality to a winnable state so the hero wins, unless you can alter reality... and understand the hero's unusual ability then you might win.

Superman once died in a Superman comic and Lex Luthor once took over the world! In Code Geass Lelouch took over the world, and in the 2003 FMA Envy KILLED Ed so there you have it, the bad guys win sometimes.

I read some of the Supervillain Field Manual. The harsh answer is the deck stacked against them and they are doing more work.
sonicthemeatball Featured By Owner Oct 27, 2014
...I don't exactly know where I stand on this.
On the one hand, I firmly support tragedies and other works in which the villains win.
But on the other hand, I believe that they should be for adults only.

There are occasional books and movies where the bad guys win, but usually it leaves a bad taste in people's minds.

I say it's because of that age old rule: "Good always triumphs over evil."

Honestly, fuck that rule.

Read BatMan comics?
The Joker shot and paralyzed the first BatGirl, and beat the second Robin with a crow bar before blowing him up.

There is no good in this world, There are those who deny Suffering, Pain, Anger, and DEATH, because they want to be the "Good Guys".

If someone said there a "good person" There in denial and don't want to admit their pain.
Pointerofreality Featured By Owner Mar 7, 2014
Cause humans are egomaniacs. Most people think they're in the right so they feel like the protagonist of their own story. The truth is that people in those stories have simplistic motivations for what they do.
Cite the Wizard of oz, from the witch's point of view Dorothy killed her sister stole the only keepsake left, destroyed her kingdom and then murdered her. But because you see it from the "hero" side it all seems justified.
If you just want the bad guys to win for the sake of being a contrarian or for "something different" then I suggest reading vore or looking into horror stories or dark stuff like that. But if you truly see a villain with good motivation and purpose being denied a reasonable goal then yes...that I could see wanting the "bad guy" to win.

What about Scarface? Tony Montana was bad, and even thou he was a protagonist, he died, killed by another bad guy. Same story with Godfather, Vito Corleone, bad guy, dies of heart attack, and his successor, Michael Corleone dies of old age. There was no hero in shining armor, bad guys took everything, in the Scarface, bad guy was replaced with another bad guy... In Godfather, bad guys were so elusive that they won, death from an illness and death of an old man is a victory As the 11th doctor said "You've been trying to kill me for the centuries and here I am, dying of old age. If you want something done, do it yourself". So as for the question, bad guys sometimes wins.

Hellsing4lyfe Featured By Owner May 1, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
Me too.
I will write one about a vampire (Not the sissy twilight kind) prince who was exiled because he almost started a war with the humans and his brother got into power. He wanted to obliterate the human race because he felt they were a threat to the TRUE dominant species on earth-Vampires. Ever since Dracula's defeat by Hellsing, Vampires have declined and many types were killed off, for "Human protection" and then he fids that his brother had passed laws on "no biting humans" and shit, for "peace" but vampires can only drink animal blood for so long before wasting away, and he feels they need to stick to the old ways instead of being politically correct with the lesser species
